Welcome to my web page! I am very excited to begin what should be a great school year! My name is Mr. Steve Kress, and I am entering my first year of full-time teaching. This school year, I will be teaching Science to Grades 6-8, and also English, Religion, and Health for Grade 8. I consider myself very fortunate to begin my educational career in earnest by becoming a part of the St. Joan of Arc School/Parish community!

I am from Louisville, Ohio, and nearly my entire education has come from a Stark County Catholic school, as I attended St. Louis School, St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and Walsh University. I graduated from Walsh in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Grades 7-12 Science Education.

Mr. Kress's Goals for Teaching Students:

  • That they feel respected, safe and important within my classroom, and are not afraid to explore their unique God-given talents.
  • That they are well-prepared for the next grade level and strongly develop their preparation for high school.
  • That they develop their senses of wonder, awe, and concern for the fascinating Earth and universe that God created.

Parents/guardians of my students: if you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding my curriculum for your child(ren), my classroom door is always open after class. Any information that you can provide that can help aid me in better understanding your child, and their educational needs, is greatly appreciated. I look forward to a very fun-filled and educational year, and welcome the opportunity to help your child(ren) be “Learners Today, Leaders Tomorrow”! Go Dragons!
